Title: No sound when linking MP573 and EQ573II with connector cable
Post by: Jesper on April 20, 2023, 11:31:36 PM
Hi there hope someone can help!!!

Both units MP573 and EQ573II are working fine when they are connected via XLR back on the rack, but when I insert the linking cable I get no sound, neither in XLR, Off or Pre mode.

I can see that the LED insert light is signaling that it gets the input signal.

I have a Midas L10 rack that power supply output that provides 3.2 A @ ±16 V and 300 mA @ +48 V, is that too little?

I bought a new cable for linking so that cannot be the problem either.

I inserted the C8 backwards on the PCB.

Any suggestions?

Best regards
Jesper

The sound should come out of the pre, with the EQ in Pre mode, OK?
You must check the solder joints of J2, C8, C9, C10, R5, R6, RLY2, J6a and J6b pins 19-20.
Check that you ger 20-24V across diode D2, with the switch in the Pre position.

Hi Jean Pierre

Thanks for the fast answer and correct answer. I reflowed the solder joints and measured across diode D2.

Everything works perfectly.
