Hello there!

I made myself a couple of those amazing compressors and also the MP573 preamps!

I'm noticing that when i engage the 2 compressors with for example a stereo set of mics, i have to put the compressor output level way higher than the other one.

The microphone I'm using are a couple of U87, they are not paired but when using just the preamp, with the compressors disengaged the levels are close enough.

Here is a picture recording, the first part is with just the preamp and where you see the level decrease is where i engaged the compressors.

Any idea on what could be causing this problem? Looking at the compressor metters, they look like they receive and compress the same amount of signal, so i suspect the problem is just on the output, the quality of the sound when you normalize the tracks seems to be alright. What should I be checking first? For stereo recordings would be much more comfortable to have them work as close as possible in terms of input and output. I've been fine recording with different microphones or different sources but when i have to do stereo its kind of a mess.

Try swapping the DOA's in case one is bad.
Check the resistors value of R19, R20.
Check the solder joints on the output transformer.
Next, set the compressors like in step 6 of the setup guide and compare the signal level on the 2 compressors on TP1, TP2 and L1 to find where they diverge.
